Now open: Annual Text Prize for Young Adult and Children’s Writing

Start your new year off right by entering your manuscript into the Annual Text Prize for Young Adult & Children’s Writing.

First prize is a handsome $10,000 advance on publishing royalties and a contract with Text Publishing. Wouldn’t that be a fab way to kick off 2018?

This prize is open to writers in Australia and New Zealand.

From the Text Publishing website:

Awarded annually to the best manuscript written for young readers, the prize has unearthed extraordinary, multi-award-winning books and launched international publishing careers. Published and unpublished writers of all ages are eligible to enter with works of fiction or non-fiction.”

The winner for 2017 was a middle-grade fiction story The Extremely Weird Thing that Happened in Huggabie Falls by Adam Cece.

Entries are now open for the 2018 round and close 2 February 2018.
