COMP CLOSED: Children’s book ‘Quark’s Academy’!

This week, we’re delighted to be giving away a book by one of our very own alumni. It’s called Quark’s Academy and it is written by children’s author (and AWC graduate!) Catherine Pelosi. We have three copies to give away.

(You can find out more about Catherine’s path to publication on our blog and episode 222 of our podcast.)

Here’s a quick plot summary of this book, aimed at readers aged 8-12. Junior science geniuses Augustine, Celeste and Oscar can’t believe their luck when they’re accepted into an elite and mysterious science academy summer camp run by the elusive Inventor Quark.

From the moment they step inside the gates of Quark’s Academy at the end of Molecule Drive, they know they’re in for a week they’ll never forget. But things at the academy are not quite what they seem, and the three quickly realise that they’ll need to put their squabbles aside and their heads together if they’re ever to get out of there alive…

A page-turning adventure for young readers, Quark’s Academy is bound to cause a hair-raising reaction!

Remember, this book is aimed at readers aged 8-12, so we’d love to see many young readers enter this one. (One book will definitely be awarded to an entrant aged 12 or under. So if you ARE a young reader entering – please include your age in your entry.)

Of course, parents, teachers, grandparents and friends are also welcome to enter too. And to be in to win, your task is simple. In honour of the elusive inventor’s name, tell us your favourite word starting with Q – and why you like it (in 25 words or fewer). Our three favourite entries will each win a copy!

THIS COMPETITION HAS NOW CLOSED. THANKS FOR YOUR ENTRIES. WINNERS WILL BE CONTACTED BY EMAIL AND ANNOUNCED IN OUR NEWSLETTER.
