Entries open for 2018 The Peter Porter Poetry Prize

The Peter Porter Poetry Prize (how’s that for alliteration?) is now taking submissions.

A poetry prize that’s open to anyone around the world, with a prize pool of over AU$8,000. And this year, the judges are Bill Manhire, John Hawke, and Jen Webb.

According to the Australian Book Review website, “It honours the life and work of the great Australian poet Peter Porter (1929–2010), an honoured contributor to ABR for many years.”

From the Australian Book Review Website:

“First Prize: $5,000 and Arthur Boyd’s etching and aquatint The unicorn and the angel, 1975 from the series The lady and the unicorn, 1975. Second Prize: $2,000. Shortlisted Poets: $500. All five shortlisted poems will be published in the magazine.”

This prize is open to submissions from all around the world.

From the Media Release:
Peter Rose (Editor of ABR) said: “Peter Porter’s poetry transcended national borders, so it is fitting that all poets can enter. The Porter Prize also chimes with the magazine’s strong interest in world literature and its commitment to the promotion and appreciation of new poetry.”

Entries must be no longer than 75 lines and the deadline is midnight, 3 December 2017.
