Applications are invited for the position of Editor of Meanjin, one of Australia’s most significant literary publications. The Editor ofMeanjin will continue to benefit from over 50 years of financial and intellectual support from the University of Melbourne.

The successful applicant will be required to manage the publication—print and digital—of Meanjin and have a clear vision for its sustainability in the context of the opportunities and challenges that confront the publishing industry.

Applicants will have a strong sense of Meanjin’s ability to contribute to and shape public debate, they will need substantial editorial experience, extensive literary and cultural networks, and strong communication skills.

The position will be offered as a part-time renewable three-year contract, starting in February 2015, salary to be negotiated. The Editor will report to the CEO/Publisher of Melbourne University Publishing and have the support of an Editorial Advisory Committee.
